The reserve had hoped to reopen this weekend.
A spokesperson for the reserve said:
‘Water levels are extremely high and there is NO ACCESS via vehicle onto the reserve. ‘
We are also strongly advising against trying to access the reserve by foot as most paths are flooded and dangerous.
‘Water levels are expected to continue rising around the area, with flood warnings remaining in place.
‘Sadly, as expected the water levels on the reserve remain high and we ask people not to try to access the reserve. The visitor centre will also be closed all weekend and we will continue to monitor the situation.’
Stay safe and thank you for understanding.’
