Barclays announce more branches will close in Nottinghamshire

More Barclays Bank branches in the county are to close.

Barclays announced earlier this year that the West Bridgford branch on Tudor Square will close on 15 June.

Further brand closures are Newark on 17 August and Worksop on 23 August.

Barclays said: “As visits to branches continue to fall, we need to adapt to provide the best service for all our customers.

“Where there is no longer enough demand to support a branch, we maintain an in-person presence though our Barclays Local network, live in over 200 locations, based in libraries, town halls, mobile vans and our new banking pods.

“‘We’ll be closing our West Bridgford branch on Thursday 15 June 2023 at 12:00 pm.

‘The decision to close a branch is never easy and we appreciate this might not be welcome news, but we’ll make sure you and your local community continue to have access to our banking services when you need them – it’ll just be in a different way.

‘We’ll still be part of your community in West Bridgford – we’re just finalising the details of when and where we’ll be based to support you with your banking, but in the meantime, we’re keen to hear what you think.

‘We’ll be speaking with customers, the local MP, council members, charities, community groups and local businesses over the coming weeks to hear any thoughts and feedback on this change.’
