Box full of cocaine and heroin found in Nottingham garden

City West officers found a box full of cocaine and heroin while executing a warrant.

More than 20 individual wraps of the Class A drugs were seized from outside a house in Aspley.

The neighbourhood team attended Allendale Avenue after hearing the property could be housing drugs.

Officers were let inside by the homeowner – who was sitting outside as they arrived around 8pm on Saturday (24 January).

When searches of the house proved negative, police went back outside and spotted a black box on the grass in the front garden.

On closer inspection, the box was found to contain an array of different drug wraps – later confirmed to be a mix of cocaine and heroin.

Based on this discovery, officers arrested a 48-year-old woman on suspicion of possessing with intent to supply Class A drugs.

City West Neighbourhood Inspector Gordon Fenwick said:

“We executed this warrant based on intelligence suggesting drugs were being sold from the address.

“While nothing was found inside the house, we were able to seize more than 20 wraps of Class A drugs – thanks to the awareness of the officers in attendance.

“Despite it being dark outside, they were still able to spot a black box in the garden that contained cocaine and heroin.

“As a direct result of that, we were able to take these dangerous substances out of harm’s way and make an arrest, so the officers deserve great credit.”
