Detectives investigating a stabbing in Newark have placed a suspect before the courts.
A man in his 40s suffered stab wounds after an altercation outside a property in Parliament Street around 7.20pm on 22 September 2025.
The victim was taken to hospital with injuries which are not life-altering or life-threatening in nature.
Officers conducted forensic, door-to-door and CCTV investigations in the area.
A 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has now been charged with attempting to commit grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a knife in a public place.
He appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (14 October) and is next due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 12 November 2025.
Two men, aged 21 and 46, and a 17-year-old boy, who were all arrested in relation to the incident, remain on police bail.

“We are grateful to those who have assisted our investigation by providing information.
“The force understands the concern any incident of this nature can have, but we continue to believe this was an isolated incident posing no wider risk to the community.”
