Detectives investigating a stabbing at a community shop have arrested a suspect.
Police were called to Outram Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield, around 6pm on Tuesday 4 August after a teenager was chased into the convenience store and attacked.
The victim, an 18-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries but has since been discharged.
Officers have been supporting him while carrying out door-to-door and CCTV inquiries into what happened.
A 16-year-old boy has now been arrested on suspicion of committing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Detective Inspector James Oakton, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“We know this incident caused concern in the neighbourhood so I’m pleased we can share this update.
“A team of detectives have been working hard on the investigation using all the investigative tools at our disposal.
“Neighbourhood teams have also been deployed on additional patrols to support the community.
“Thankfully the victim has now left hospital and is recovering.
“Despite our progress and this arrest, it remains vital that anyone with information comes forward and shares it with officers.
“I’d urge anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any relevant CCTV, doorbell, mobile phone or dashcam footage, to get in touch.”
