Brick thrown through Southwell cottage window

Police arrested a man after a brick was thrown through a window.

Officers were called following the incident at a cottage in Halam Road, Southwell, on Thursday afternoon (4 August 2022).

Following enquires, a 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage in nearby Halam later in the evening.

He remains in custody for questioning.

Sergeant Christian Hurley, of the Newark and Sherwood neighbourhood policing team, said: “To throw a brick through the window of a residential property is very dangerous.

“It could have caused serious injury but, thankfully, no one was harmed in the incident.

“We have a suspect in custody and the investigation is ongoing.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any information that could aid officers, is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 639 of 4 August 2022.
