The redevelopment of the Broadmarsh area continues and some roads are prioritised for buses.
This includes more pedestrian-friendly areas, a new Broadmarsh Bus Station, Central Library, Nottingham Castle visitor experience and Nottingham College City Hub.
As part of this redevelopment, roads around Broadmarsh will change from Sunday 9th August 2020.
This will see Collin Street pedestrianised and Canal Street, between Middle Hill and Greyfriar Gate, become a two-way restricted area for buses and wheelchair accessible taxis.
The routes and bus stop for the following services will change:
- Navy 1, 3, 4, 48, 49
- Green 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11
- Orange 34
- Grey 50
- Turquoise 77, 78, 79
Navy 1, 3, 4, 48
Buses to the City Centre will follow their existing route along Carrington Street, stopping for the Railway Station.
At the end of Carrington Street, buses will turn left on to Canal Street, where a new bus stop will be located near Castle Wharf.

Buses will then use a new slip-road to reach Maid Marian Way, with a bus stop outside Nottingham College. This stop will replace the stop currently used under the car park bridge at the bottom of Maid Marian Way. Buses will continue to Beastmarket Hill (1, 3, 48) or NTU City Campus (4) as normal.
Buses to Clifton will follow their existing route to the bottom of Maid Marian Way (under the car park bridge) and then turn right on to Greyfriar Gate and left on to Canal Street.
Buses will stop on Canal Street, near Albion Street. This will replace the stop currently on Collin Street.
Buses will then turn right on to Carrington Street to serve the existing stops for the Railway Station and then continue to Clifton.
Green 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and Navy 49
Buses to the City Centre will follow their existing route along Carrington Street, stopping for the Railway Station.
At the end of Carrington Street, buses will turn right on to Canal Street and then left on to Middle Hill, resuming their normal route from Fletcher Gate to Victoria Centre.
Buses from the City Centre will follow their existing route to the bottom of Maid Marian Way (under the car park bridge).Buses will then turn right on to Greyfriar Gate and left on to Canal Street.
Green 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 will stop in the lay-by underneath the car park bridge, which replaces their current stop on Collin Street.
Green 11 and Navy 49 will stop on Canal Street, near Albion Street. This will replace their stop currently on Collin Street.
Buses will then turn right on to Carrington Street to serve the existing stops for the Railway Station and then continue towards Trent Bridge or Boots Factory.
Orange 34
Buses will follow their existing route to the bottom of Maid Marian Way (under the car park bridge). Buses will then turn right on to Greyfriar Gate and left on to Canal Street.
Buses will stop on Canal Street, near Albion Street. This will replace the stop currently on Collin Street, which provides a stop closer to the Railway Station.
Buses will continue along Canal Street and then left on to Middle Hill, resuming their normal route from Fletcher Gate to Victoria Centre.
Grey 50
Buses will follow their existing route to the bottom of Maid Marian Way (under the car park bridge). Buses will then turn right on to Greyfriar Gate and left on to Canal Street.
Buses will stop on Canal Street, near Albion Street. This will replace the stop currently on Collin Street, which provides a stop closer to the Railway Station.
Buses will continue along Canal Street and resume their existing route to Victoria Retail Park.
Turquoise 77, 78, 79
Buses will follow their existing route to the bottom of Maid Marian Way (under the car park bridge). Buses will then turn right on to Greyfriar Gate and left on to Canal Street.
Buses will stop on Canal Street, near Albion Street. This will replace the stop currently on Collin Street (in the layby), which provides a stop closer to the Railway Station.
Buses will continue along Canal Street and then left on to Middle Hill, resuming their normal route from Fletcher Gate to Victoria Centre.
