A bundle of Class A drugs was retrieved from a suspect’s underpants after a car stop in Nottingham.
Knife crime team officers were on patrol around 10.40am on Wednesday (21 October) when they observed a suspected drug deal taking place.
One of the men involved got into a car which officers then pulled over in Ransom Road, Mapperley.
Two men found inside the car were detained for searches after officers noticed they were both rearranging their clothing and appeared to be concealing something.
A rock of suspected cocaine was found in one suspect’s pockets, and cash and mobile phones were seized from both men.
During further searches a large bundle of Class A drugs were found wrapped in clingfilm inside one of the suspect’s underpants.
Two men, aged 27 and 52, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class A drug.
The 27-year-old was further held on suspicion of possession of a Class B drug.
Chief Inspector Kylie Davies, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“Being observant while out on patrol has allowed the knife crime team to arrest these suspected drug dealers.
“The suspects’ behaviour led officers to carry out thorough searches and recover significant quantities of Class A drugs which we strongly believe were being peddled in this part of Nottingham.
“The team then worked closely with neighbourhood officers in City South so these arrests were a great example of joined up and smart working.”
