A man has been sent to prison following a series of burglaries and thefts in Nottinghamshire.
A 42-year-old Bulwell man was handed a sentence of three years and four months at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday, June 30, 2023.
Hearn, from Wayford Walk, Bulwell, pleaded guilty to three counts of burglary and one count of theft.
His crime spree spanned less than a month, from September 22 to October 14, 2017, and involved both commercial and residential properties.
Among the targeted locations was a business on the Blenheim Industrial Estate in Bulwell, where Hearn forced entry and made off with two vehicles. A residential burglary on Webb Ellis Road in Kirkby-in-Ashfield saw him abscond with a car and three high-value bicycles. Another home invasion occurred at Osbourne Close, Watnall, where a handbag containing a small amount of cash, a purse, and bank cards were stolen.
In addition to his sentence for these crimes, Hearn was given a concurrent 12-month sentence for violating a previously issued suspended sentence order.
The successful conviction and sentencing of Hearn were the result of a collaborative investigation involving detectives and force intelligence analysts from Nottinghamshire Police. The team was able to interpret mobile phone data, which played a crucial role in bringing Hearn to justice.
Detective Sergeant Andrea Brown, of Nottinghamshire Police, commented on the case, she said:
“Burglary is an extremely distressing crime for the victims whose homes and businesses are targeted. This series of offences had a significant impact on a number of people, and we are relieved to have brought Hearn to justice.”

Brown further emphasised the force’s commitment to tackling and reducing burglary, stating, “We understand how distressing burglaries can be, which is why it remains a priority for us. We are working tirelessly to prevent and drive down burglary and want to reassure people that we will always strive to bring suspects before the court at the earliest opportunity.”
