Trams cancelled for two weeks Wilkinson St – Forest for track maintenance

Nottingham Express Transit (NET) tram services between Wilkinson Street and The Forest will be suspended for two weeks, from 26 July to 9 August, to allow vital routine track improvements to take place.

The upcoming works will take place across sections of track at several junctions between Wilkinson Street and The Forest. The upgrades form part of ongoing investment to ensure the network remains safe and reliable, and trams will resume serving all stops from 10 August.

To minimise disruption, a replacement bus service will operate directly between Wilkinson Street and The Forest tram stops, with the stops in between remaining closed while the track improvements take place. Anyone looking to travel during this time is encouraged to visit the dedicated maintenance page on the NET website or speak to the customer relations team to understand how the works may affect their journey.

Andy Downie, Head of Operations and Safety at NET, said: “Ensuring we carry out routine maintenance work is essential for providing a safe and reliable service for the thousands of passengers who use our trams. The tram network serves communities across the city every day, and by regularly renewing and refreshing our infrastructure, we can continue to deliver a tram service that passengers can rely on.

“We apologise for any inconvenience these upcoming works may cause. During this time, where possible, we’d encourage customers to allow a little extra time before travelling. Passengers who normally use the Wilkinson Street Park & Ride can use The Forest Park & Ride, where they can board the tram directly into the city for a more convenient onward journey. We thank all our customers in advance for their patience and co-operation while the works are completed.”
