Detectives investigating a series of home break-ins and attempted burglaries have placed a suspect before magistrates.
The first burglary took place in Talbot Street, Nottingham city, when a television was stolen from student accommodation following a break-in around 5 a.m. on 11 September 2024.
A second burglary was reported to officers on 11 October by a woman who said a high-value watch had been taken after a break-in overnight at her home in Kenilworth Road, Nottingham.
Officers were alerted to a third break-in at a home in Balmoral Road, also on 11 October, in which a laptop computer, cash, and bank cards were stolen.
The cards were later used at two supermarkets.
Attempted break-ins at two further homes in Kenilworth Drive and one in Huntingdon Drive were also reported to officers in the early hours of the same day.
A suspect from Basford, has been charged with three counts of burglary and three of attempted burglary.
He has also been charged with two counts of vehicle interference after incidents in Huntingdon Drive on 11 October and two counts of fraud by false representation.
The 38-year-old has also been charged with assaulting a woman in Lower Parliament Street, Nottingham, on 1 September.
He is further accused of theft from a shop after a bottle of whisky was stolen from a store in Cheapside, Nottingham, and attempted theft from a shop in Milton Street, Nottingham, both on 15 October.
He appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Friday (18 October) and was remanded in custody until his next appearance at Nottingham Crown Court on 8 November.
Detective Sergeant Rob Palethorpe, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“Many of these offences occurred in the same neighbourhood, and we understand the concern this caused.
“I hope people in the community are reassured by our robust investigation, which has now seen this suspect charged with a series of offences and placed before the courts.”
