The 09:30 concessionary rule for pass holders to be able to access shops and services earlier in the day has been relaxed.
Nottingham City Transport said:
‘We had originally been reluctant to support this idea because it goes against Public Health England advice that older people should avoid using public transport at peak hours and it encouraged them to travel at a time when they would be at increased risk.
‘With more people working from home and universities, colleges and schools switching to e-learning or closing, this risk has reduced as buses are not as busy.
‘Cardholders simply need to show their card to the driver before 09:30 or after 23:00 on weekdays to travel. This takes effect from 19th March 2020 and continues until further notice.’

‘We are reducing our weekday opening hours from Monday 23rd March to reflect staffing availability. On weekdays, we will continue to open at 8am, but close earlier at 4.30pm. Our hours will be 08:00 – 16:30 weekdays and 09:00 – 15:30 on Saturdays (unchanged).’
