Cannabis grow found on several floors of Nottingham city centre property

Two men were arrested on suspicion of drugs offences after police were called to a suspected burglary.

Officers were called to East Street, Hockley, shortly after 11.40 pm on Sunday after reports of a disturbance.

When they arrived two suspects were seen trying to leave the area and were detained.

Inside a nearby property, officers found a very large cannabis grow with plants growing on multiple floors of the property.

The plants will now be removed by a specialist team and all related growing equipment will be put beyond use.

Two men, both aged 32, were arrested on suspicion of burglary and cannabis production.

Sergeant Sharon Powar, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a very large cannabis grow that will have taken a considerable amount of time and money to set up. As is often the case, our attention was drawn to this address by a noisy disturbance nearby. Officers then did a great job to bring two suspects into custody so quickly.”
