Car crashes into Nottingham nail bar

Police have charged a suspect after a car crashed into the front of a nail bar.

A man was arrested after a Ford Kuga smashed into the Coco Beach Nail Bar in Middleton Boulevard around 4.40am on Saturday (27 December 2025).

No injuries were reported however damage was caused to the frontage and inside of the salon.

Within just a couple of minutes Police Dog Santo, a lively Belgian Malinois licensed for duty in October 2025, sniffed out a suspect who was hiding in a nearby garden.

Nathan Thiongo, aged 33, of Earls Close, Bilborough, has been charged with dangerous driving, criminal damage, failing to provide a specimen for analysis, and failing to stop.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today (Monday 29 December 2025).

Inspector Chris Chell, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “It’s only down to sheer luck that no-one was seriously injured during this incident.

“Thanks to some great teamwork and skilful tracking from PD Santo we were quickly able to detain a suspect who has now been brought before the courts.

“Reducing the number of people who are killed or seriously injured on our roads continues to be a priority for our force and, as our response to this incident shows, we will continue to take robust action against anyone who actions needlessly endanger the lives of innocent people.”
