The incident happened at the Streetwise Environmental depot in Bingham.
A spokesperson said:
‘A round of a-paws! Our Environmental Health team member Colin was so determined to reach Ollie the cat trapped in the walls of Streetwise Environmental depot in Bingham, he drilled out part of the wall to save him!

‘The unchipped moggie had a happy ending too as he was re-homed by a fellow team member safe and well under 24 hours later! Great work all!’
