CCTV image released after handbag stolen inside Nottingham nightclub

Police are investigating after a stolen bank card was used to pay for drinks inside a Nottingham nightclub.

The victim was herself enjoying a night out in the Lace Market area when her handbag was stolen from the back of her chair.

It contained her purse, bank card, £40 in cash and her mobile phone.

Shortly after it was stolen, the bank card was used to pay for entry into Popworld, as well as drinks inside the nightclub.

The stolen card was used three times in the space of just seven minutes, with the fraudulent transactions adding up to £54.60.

Police have today released an image of a woman they wish to trace as it is believed she may have information that could assist the investigation.

PC Hannah Francis, who is leading the investigation, said: “We’re appealing for the public to help us with our investigation and help us identify this woman.

“This has been an ongoing investigation and we are now hoping that anyone who recognises the woman pictured will come forward.

“No-one deserves to have their personal items stolen from them and this incident completely ruined the victim’s own night out.
