City Council leader issues statement after Nottingham protests

Cllr Neghat Khan, the leader of Nottingham City Council issued this statement today Monday 5 August.

“The City Council is appalled by the violent disorder that has occurred in various cities and towns over the weekend, including minor disturbances in Nottingham city centre.

“Nottingham is a welcoming place where people from different backgrounds get along.

“The Council condemns violence and hatred, and attempts to drive division among our diverse communities will not be tolerated and will not succeed.“
