Clifton: Police are appealing for help after a vulnerable woman was attacked while walking her dog.
The victim, in her 60s, was punched in the face and pushed to the floor during the incident at Clifton playing fields, off Farnborough Road, Clifton.
She was left shaken and distressed, as an existing medical condition makes her extremely vulnerable.
The woman was walking with a friend and their pet dogs at around 5:40 pm on 20 October 2024 when they encountered a group consisting of two women, a teenage child, and two other small dogs.
One of the women in the group became angry and aggressive, screaming at the victim to put her dog on its lead.
The victim was then punched before being pushed over.
Her friend managed to pull the woman off her, but the victim was left with a badly bruised face.
The offender is described as a woman aged around 25, with distinctive red or burgundy-coloured dyed hair.
Police Constable Beth Wharmby, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“This was an upsetting incident for the victim, and we are determined to find the person responsible.
“Unfortunately, we do not believe the assault was captured on any footage. However, we are hopeful the victim’s description will help to trace her attacker.
“We also know there were other people in the park at the time who may have witnessed what happened.
“I’d urge anyone who visits these playing fields to think if they were around that evening and noticed anything which could help with our inquiries.”
