Closures on A52, Embankment and city centre roads disrupt bus services next week

Multiple road closures and disruption across Nottingham are set to affect bus services from this weekend, with passengers being advised to check routes before travelling.

A number of key roads and stops across the city will be closed or partially restricted from Sunday, March 23, with some works lasting into May and others continuing until further notice.

Lower Parliament Street will be closed on March 23, impacting several city centre routes including the 24, 25, 26, 27, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43 and 44 services.

At the same time, the Victoria Embankment bus stop will be closed from March 23 until April 15. This will affect a large number of services, including routes 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 90.

Further disruption is expected on Westleigh Road, which will be closed from March 23 through to May 2, impacting routes 77C and 78.

A series of overnight closures will also affect major routes. Derby Road (A52) will be closed overnight between March 23 and March 27, impacting services 35 and 36. During the same period, Alfreton Road will face overnight partial closures across phases one and two, affecting routes 77, 78 and 79.

A full weekend closure of the A52 Derby Road is also scheduled from March 27 to March 30, with further disruption expected to services 35 and 36 during this time.

Elsewhere, ongoing works continue to affect services across the city. Thane Road remains closed until further notice, impacting routes 49, 49A and 49X. Linden Way near City Hospital is also closed until further notice, affecting services 40 and 40X.

In addition, Derby Road has been operating under a one-way system since January 20, which continues to impact a wide range of services including routes 28, 30, 34, 35, 36, 48, 49, 53 and 54.

Passengers are advised to allow extra time for journeys and check with operators for the latest updates and diversion details before travelling.
