Latest photos from the new walking and cycling bridge between Trent Basin and Lady Bay – the ramps and steps on the south side have now been craned into place.
On 26 March the 23.5tonne, 20metre long basin bridge ( main image ) was lifted into place.
The smaller basin bridge will connect the main bridge with the east side of Trent Basin.
New access features have been installed on Nottingham’s new Waterside Bridge this week, marking another visible step forward in the construction of the long-awaited pedestrian and cycle crossing over the River Trent.

The newly fitted staircases and ramped approaches form part of the bridge’s access infrastructure, allowing pedestrians and cyclists to move between the bridge deck and the surrounding riverside paths.
The structures have now been craned into position on both sides of the river and will connect the bridge to the wider Waterside regeneration area and existing walking and cycling routes.

The Waterside Bridge will provide a new link between the north and south banks of the Trent, connecting the developing Waterside neighbourhood on the city side with sports and leisure destinations including Trent Bridge and the City Ground.
Once completed, the crossing is expected to improve access for pedestrians and cyclists, reduce journey times between the two sides of the river and support the wider regeneration plans for the Waterside area.
