A Conservative councillor has criticised newly painted double yellow lines in Gedling village, describing the road markings as “proper wonky”.
Councillor Mike Adams ( Conservative Carlton East ) posted the comments on social media after driving through the village and seeing the lines.
He wrote: “Just drove through Gedling village and had to pull over from laughing.
“Reform UK have been out painting double yellow lines. Except they look like they let the local lads on a stag do do it after 10 pints.
“Proper wonky. It looks like it’s trying to do the Macarena.”
Cllr Adams also used the condition of the markings to question Reform UK’s competence, adding: “As a Conservative I’m over here expecting basic competence… and at least a spirit level.”
He described the lines as “the most entertaining parking restrictions in Nottinghamshire” and asked residents whether they had also seen them.
The council or its appointed highways contractors would normally be responsible for arranging road-marking work.
