Police were called to a disturbance in Market Place, Bingham, shortly before 3 pm today.
A commercial premises has been evacuated and a cordon put in place.
Officers will remain in the area as investigations continue.
As part of this incident, officers were also deployed to premises in Main Street, Stathern, where a man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of assault.
This is an isolated incident with no ongoing risk to the public. It is also unconnected to Tuesday’s major incident in Nottingham.
