Council issues update after Bingham Arena car park confusion

There has been some confusion over signage and how long you can park before needing to pay.

A spokesperson for Rushcliffe Borough Council said:

‘We anticipate and have already seen that the vast majority of car park users at Bingham Arena and Enterprise Centre have taken advantage of the free three hours parking to enjoy all the benefits of the new site, which has opened this week.

‘The Council is delighted to read and hear of the positive experiences leisure centre users have had on the centre’s first full day of opening.

‘The Authority has listened to feedback on the car park signage at the site and we’re now ensuring all users are even further aware there is no requirement to obtain a ticket if at the site for three hours or under. Additional signage will confirm this.

‘If parking for over three hours users are required to purchase a RingGo electronic or virtual ticket by app or phone as outlined on the signage.

‘The Council anticipate the vast majority of users of the site will be parking for free for less than three hours to use the facilities.

‘Leisure Centre users are asked to notify reception should they return within three hours to avoid any enforcement action.

‘Car park signage will continue to state no return within three hours to reiterate the parking area is intended for use by leisure users alone and not for other purposes.

‘The Council continue to monitor car park usage over the coming weeks to ensure that they can support leisure centre users who are fairly using the facility.’
