Driver suffers spinal fracture after road rage incident on A610 Nottingham

A driver suffered a fractured spine and broken nose after he was attacked by two men following a road rage incident on the A610 in Nottingham.

The 44-year-old victim was assaulted in a layby on the A610 city bound, near the M1 junction 26 roundabout approaching from Kimberley, at around 4.10pm on Saturday 30 March 2024.

Around 10 minutes earlier the victim had been driving his black Mercedes along Kelham Way, Eastwood, when a grey Hyundai reportedly veered into his lane and caused him to brake to avoid a collision.

Both vehicles then headed along the A610 before the driver and passenger in the Hyundai gestured for the victim to pull over in the layby which he did.

He was still sitting in his car when the driver of the Hyundai tried to open his window. When the victim opened his door he was punched to the face.

“We’re urging any members of the public who were passing at the time and saw what happened to please come forward with their information.

“Similarly, we’re appealing for any drivers who may have captured dashcam footage of the altercation to please get in touch with us.”

If you have any information please call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 421 of 30 March 2024, or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Two men, aged 29 and 37, were arrested on Friday 26 April in connection with the incident. They were subsequently released on conditional bail while police continue with their inquiries.
