East Leake Academy celebrates fantastic A level results

East Leake Academy, part of the Diverse Academies Trust, today saw students and staff celebrating another outstanding set of A level results.

Overall, students achieved an average grade score of B and well over a third of students achieved top A* and A grades.

Several of the students have overcome challenging personal circumstances during the last two years. They have achieved their fantastic results through hard work and determination, and with the ongoing support of the sixth form staff.

Two of the academy’s high achievers were twins Verity and Theo Marshall. Verity gained three A* grades in English literature, history and extended project qualification and an A grade in English language. She will be taking up her place at Trinity College Cambridge.

Everyone at East Leake Academy is also very proud of students who have shown excellent progress in their A level studies. Kieran Morey achieved three grade Cs in history, English literature and film studies. He is now heading to Liverpool John Moore’s to study history. Maya Marshall also showed the importance of hard work and determination in achieving A grades in history.

Blake Francis, Principal said: “On behalf of everyone at East Leake Academy I would like to say a huge congratulations to all of our year 13 students who have received an excellent set of A level results today. Students have displayed an incredible amount of hard work and dedication over the past two years and their success is very well deserved.

“They have all had to show immense resilience to continue studying during the pandemic and overcoming the challenges this has bought. It is also worth noting that a significant number of our cohort have also faced some very challenging personal circumstances as individuals. Despite these challenges they have all shown some truly inspirational determination in achieving their best and we are incredibly proud of them.

“We wish our students all the best for the next step in their journey within education, training and employment. As they take their next steps, we know that they leave us as well rounded individuals, who will go on to make us proud and do some amazing things in the future.

“I would also like to say congratulations and thank you to the amazing team of teaching and support staff who have worked with our students, guiding them through to achieve these amazing results. They have done brilliantly to ensure this cohort have prevailed despite the situation they found themselves in.”
