East Midlands Aeropark plans new entrance, snack bar and viewing shelters

East Midlands Aeropark has submitted plans to North West Leicestershire District Council Planning Department for two new modular buildings providing a new Entrance and Shop/Snack Bar.

The plans include four new viewing shelters and the re-use of the old Entrance Building as a display unit for exhibits associated with the Vulcan.

East Midlands Aeropark is located adjacent to East Midlands Airport at Hilltop, Castle Donington, and displays and preserves our military aviation heritage from the Cold War period up to recent history.

The Aeropark offers the chance for the public to view these historic aircraft and also watch the current flying operations of East Midlands Airport.

It is open for three days a week in the summer months and two days in the winter months. The addition of these new facilities will Enhance the Visitor Experience (Project EVE) and provide additional display spaces within the existing buildings.

  • GCS Group (Principal Contractor)
  • Refocus Safety (CDM Advisor/Principal Designer)
