East Midlands Airport has introduced a self-service option for its Meet & Greet parking, allowing customers to drop off and collect their car keys using automated machines instead of queuing at the service desk.
Passengers using the service can enter their details at kiosks in the Meet & Greet office, which generate a key tag before keys are deposited securely. Staff remain available for those who prefer assisted service, but the self-service option is intended to reduce waiting times during busy periods and can be completed in around two minutes.
On return, customers use a barcode issued at drop-off to access automated lockers in the arrivals hall, enabling them to collect their keys and leave without returning to the office.

The changes follow a recent refurbishment of the Meet & Greet facility. The nearby car collection area has also been resurfaced and reorganised, with colour-coded sections introduced to help customers locate their vehicles more easily.
The update forms part of wider ongoing investment at the airport, which has included upgrades to security, terminal facilities and passenger areas in recent years.
Airport officials said the changes are designed to improve the efficiency of the service at peak times while retaining the option for face-to-face assistance.
