Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly man was bitten by a dog.
The incident happened as the 82-year-old victim walked his own dog along Kinross Crescent, Bilborough, at around 9.20 am on Monday 9 October.
He was later treated in hospital and required surgery to his hand.
Officers say the incident involved a medium-sized brown dog and want to hear from anyone who saw what happened.
PC John Pearson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“The victim in this case was a vulnerable elderly man who suffered some significant injuries to his hand.
“We have been speaking to local residents about what happened and would now like to speak with anyone else who saw or heard what happened.
“We know that the dog was with its owner at the time of the attack and believe this man fled the scene shortly afterwards.”
