Emergency services attend Wilford Suspension Bridge over concern for person’s safety

Nottinghamshire Police and emergency services attended the incident today Wednesday 2 November.

One fire appliance, three police vehicles and an EMAS ambulance attended the West Bridgford side of the bridge on Welbeck Road.

Inspector Pete Shaw, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Emergency services were called to the Wilford Suspension Bridge, West Bridgford, at around 1.45pm today (Wednesday 2 November 2022) following concerns for a woman’s safety.

“The bridge was closed to pedestrians for a short period but the incident has now been concluded safely without anyone coming to harm.”
