Police surprised two suspected drug dealers by arresting them as they queued for a Wollaton car wash.
Firearms officers were investigating an unrelated incident when they sighted the vehicle in Glaisdale Drive West.
Believing the man in the passenger’s seat was acting suspiciously, they moved closer and asked the individual to get out the car.
A phone then appeared to be discarded as the officers approached, which heightened their suspicions of potential drug activity.
Based on this, the Armed Policing team placed the individual in handcuffs, so they could conduct a search of the car and nearby area.

As this was happening – around 12.40pm on Monday (17 November) – a second man appeared who police suspected to be the car’s driver.
Having spotted the officers, the individual decided to run away across the car park, before being tracked down and detained shortly afterwards.
With the two suspects now in handcuffs, firearms officers at that point noticed a black plastic bag on the ground at the car wash.
On closer inspection, the bag was found to be packed full of individual wraps of Class A drugs.
Searches of the vehicle also resulted in police discovering quantities of cash and several burner-style mobile phones.
Led by these findings, officers arrested the two men – aged 32 and 43 – on suspicion of possessing with intent to supply Class A drugs.
Sergeant Mat Crabtree, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“At each stage of this incident, the officers in attendance showcased fantastic awareness of their surroundings.
“Having firstly spotted a car and an initial suspect, they quickly identified and detained a second one, before then noticing a bag packed full of Class A drugs nearby too.
“It’s no exaggeration to say this drugs seizure and the subsequent arrests that followed probably wouldn’t have happened, had it not been for the policing instincts these officers demonstrated.”
