Five pedestrians injured after hit and run collision in Nottingham – witness appeal

Police are investigating a hit-and-run incident which left five people injured and have arrested a suspect.
Police were called to Talbot Street, Nottingham, at 2.09 am on Thursday, 12 February after reports that a group of pedestrians had been hit by a car.


Three people were taken to hospital. Two have now been discharged, but one man remains in hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening or life-altering.


A team of detectives has been carrying out multiple lines of enquiry, including witness statements, forensics and an extensive CCTV trawl to locate the person responsible.


The vehicle involved in the incident has been recovered and a number of addresses have been visited to locate the owner of that vehicle.


A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and causing grievous bodily harm with intent on Wednesday (18 February).

He has been questioned and bailed pending further investigation work.


Detective Constable Mitchell Thomas, who is leading the investigation, said: “This was an extremely serious offence where five members of the public were injured and we are doing everything we can to investigate the full circumstances and secure justice for the victims.

“Whilst we have made an arrest, our enquiries are very much ongoing and we are appealing to any taxi drivers who were operating in Talbot Street on that day, before, during or after this incident.

“Please do check your dash cam footage and please share this with us.”
