The Forest Recreation Ground Vaccination Centre will close its doors for the final time on 12 June and relocate to its new home in Sherwood.
The centre has been administering the lifesaving Covid-19 vaccination to the public since January 2020 and staff have vaccinated more than 238,568 people.
On Sunday 12 June, the site will close at 4pm, it will reopen at 8.20am on Tuesday 14 June at its new home in the Courtaulds Building on Haydn Road, Nottingham.
Stephen Upton, Deputy Director of Operations for the Nottingham Vaccination Programme, said: “The Forest site has played an important part in vaccinating residents across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire and it will be the end of an era seeing it close its doors for the final time. However, this change allows us to move towards a more sustainable model of working which will help us to continue delivering an outstanding service to our local population as we continue to administer jabs to the public.
“Although the site will be moving, we are still providing a fixed location in the city for people to have a vaccination and we will continue to offer the same range of vaccines at the new sites including first, second, booster and 5–15-year-old vaccinations through booked or walk in appointments. Our fantastic team of staff, including Ruby the therapy dog, will continue to work at the new site and we welcome anyone who is eligible for a vaccine, or those who have not yet taken up the offer, to come forward for a life-saving jab.”
The new site will continue to offer vaccinations and the public can book an appointment through 119, the NHS website or by walking in during certain times. You can find walk in times on the NHS website.
The new site can be accessed easily via public transport with the brown, green and purple line Nottingham City Transport buses all having stops nearby. The nearest public car park is on Spondon Street, a short walk away. The site also has a small number of car parking spaces along with limited on-street parking on neighbouring streets.
