Four people have been arrested as detectives continue their investigation into the murder of a 20-year-old man.
Police were called to Abbotsford Drive, St Ann’s, Nottingham, around 12.50pm on 10 November last year after Marley Gascoine was found seriously injured.
Mr Gascoine was treated at the scene but despite the best efforts of first responders he died a short time later from a stab wound.
Matthew Smith, aged 20, of First Avenue, Carlton, Nottingham, has been charged with murder and will stand trial at Nottingham Crown Court from 5 May 2026.
A team of detectives is continuing to investigate the incident and a series of warrants were executed in St Ann’s and Mapperley on Monday (23 February).
Three men, aged 19, 40 and 51, and a 41-year-old woman, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender after searches took place at a number of properties.
Detective Chief Inspector Ruby Burrow, who is leading the investigation, said:
“Mr Gascoine’s family are being supported and updated about developments in the investigation through family liaison officers.
“Detectives continue to analyse what happened in the moments before, during and after the incident.
“The latest arrests reflect these efforts and I’d like to thank the officers from a number of police teams who have assisted us.
“It remains vital that anyone with information about Mr Gascoine’s murder comes forward and shares it with us.”
Mr Gascoine’s mother previously paid tribute to her first-born child and said he ‘will always hold a special place in my heart’.
