A suspect has been arrested after a man was stabbed in an alleyway.
Police were called to Low Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield, around 11.40pm on Monday (23 February) following reports a man had been attacked close to a cashpoint.
The victim, who is aged in his 40s, was taken to hospital with injuries which are not currently believed to be life-altering or life-threatening in nature.
Officers located and arrested a suspect a short time later, as well as recovering a drill bit which is believed to have been used as a weapon.
A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of committing grievous bodily harm with intent and remains in custody.
Detective Sergeant Millie Gillett, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“Responding officers should be commended for the swift arrest of a suspect and recovery of a weapon following this violent incident.
“I’d also like to thank members of the public for the information they provided to us.
“We believe this was an isolated incident and hope people in the community welcome the arrest and our rapid response.”
