Police were called to Rose Way, Edwalton, at around 8.30am on Monday (23 February) after concerns were raised for a man’s safety.
The man was located by officers and detained a short time later. He is now being supported by health teams.
Inspector Tim Cuthbert, neighbourhood policing inspector for Rushcliffe, said: “We understand this incident took place at a busy time of day in a residential area and will have caused concern.
“A number of officers were deployed to the area and the incident was resolved quickly and safely.
“No crimes have been reported and the individual has been offered support.”
