Essential overnight maintenance works are set to take place on the A52 between Gamston and Bingham next week, with a series of lane and road closures planned.
The works will include inspections and repairs to drainage, lighting and road signs, as well as vegetation clearance along the route. To allow the work to be carried out safely, closures will be in place overnight between 8pm and 6am on selected dates.
From Monday 5 January 2026, for two nights, Lane 1 will be closed in both directions between Gamston Roundabout and the RSPCA junction.
On Wednesday 7 January 2026, the section of the A52 between the RSPCA junction and Bingham Road in Radcliffe-on-Trent will be fully closed in both directions overnight. A signed diversion will be in place via Stragglethorpe Road and the A46 northbound to Bingham Interchange, or the reverse route.
Further overnight full closures are planned from Thursday 8 January 2026 for two nights between Bingham Road, Radcliffe-on-Trent, and Bingham Interchange. The same diversion via Stragglethorpe Road and the A46 will apply.
During all closures, escorted access will be provided for residents of Grantham Road and its side roads. Main Street and Bingham Road will remain open throughout, allowing access to Carter Avenue without the need for an escort.
Drivers are advised to plan ahead, allow extra time for journeys, and follow signed diversion routes while the works are under way.
