A suspect has been charged with attempted murder following an assault in Mansfield.
Police were called to Market Place at 4.47pm on New Year’s Eve (Wednesday) after the victim, a man in his thirties, was assaulted in the street.
He remains in a serious condition in hospital.
Aiden Tyler, aged 25, has been charged with attempted murder, and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in relation to two other victims.
He has also been charged with affray after an earlier incident in Ladybrook Lane.

Tyler, of no fixed address, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today (Friday) and was remanded into custody.
He is due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 30 January.
