Image released after mobile phone theft leads to £7,000 fraud

Police want to speak to this man after a mobile phone was stolen and used fraudulently.

The phone was taken while the victim was on a night out in Unit 13, Burton Street, Nottingham, before being used to transfer money from his savings account into current accounts.

The device was then used to make transactions which totalled more than £7,000 at the BP garage in Silverdale, on Uber taxi rides and at shops in London.

Officers are now in a position to release this image of a man they believe could have vital information about the theft, which took place in the early hours of 2 April 2023, and the subsequent fraudulent use of the device.
