Image released after Nottingham student robbed on city street

Detectives have issued an image of a man they’d like to speak to following a robbery in Nottingham.

A student was walking home from a night out when a white BMW pulled in front of him at the junction of Alfreton Road and Cromwell Street.

Two men got out of the vehicle and told the student to empty his pockets while threatening him.

They made off with the victim’s mobile phone, bank card, and £15 in cash. Two high-value mobile phones were later purchased using the student’s Apple Pay account.

Police believe the man in this image will be able to assist their inquiries into the robbery and subsequent fraud offence, which happened at approximately 4am on 4 October.

Detective Constable Daniel Maddick, who is investigating the incident, said:

“We are treating this incident as a robbery and are determined to catch the person responsible.

“Thankfully, the student was not physically harmed, but the emotional impact on him has been considerable.

“While our investigation is gaining momentum, we would really like to speak to the man in this image as we believe he can assist the investigation.

“I would urge him, or anyone who recognises him, to come forward as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information can call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting crime number 24*594688.
