Major disruption to rail services Nottingham – London after overhead cable damage

There is damage to the overhead electric wires near Radlett, says East Midlands Railway.

The train operator said on Thursday 5 December:

‘This is between Luton and London St Pancras and is disrupting our trains on the London St Pancras/ Nottingham/ Sheffield and London St Pancras/ Luton Airport Parkway/ Corby routes.

‘Network Rail have a team on site, however, require a specialised team to attend. We have not been given an estimated time the specialised team will arrive on site.’

‘At present we are expecting the problem to be fixed in the next 3 hours. As soon as the problem is fixed our priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again. We expect our advertised timetable to resume on the affected routes by 11:55.’
