A rapid police response caught a suspected burglar red-handed after CCTV wiring was cut at a stables.
Officers were called to Trent Lane, East Bridgford, around 3.20am on Tuesday (24 June) following reports an intruder was on the site.
The team worked quickly to detain a suspect in the darkness and further investigations revealed a security camera had deliberately been disabled.
A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary.
Sergeant Laura Hunt, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“We always try to respond quickly to reports of break-ins in progress as we know it gives us the best chance of making an arrest.
“The officers deployed not only got to the scene rapidly but also worked efficiently to detain a suspect at the site and carry out further inquiries.
“Rural sites like this can be tempting targets for burglars and we’d always urge residents to make sure their homes and outbuildings are as secure as possible.
