A man has been jailed after a stabbing on Christmas Day.
Officers were called to an address in Southwell Road West, Mansfield, shortly after 7.30pm on 25 December 2021.
Mark Fugler, 59, knifed his victim to the left side of his body during an argument.
The wounded man, aged in his twenties, was left needing surgery.
Fugler, of Southwell Road West, later admitted to causing grievous bodily harm without intent.
Appearing at Nottingham Crown Court yesterday (Monday 27 June) he was jailed two years and four months.
Detective Constable Cherrie Sisson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “As with most incidents of knife crime, this incident could very easily have been a lot worse.
“The victim in this case suffered a serious stab wound to his body and was fortunate not to sustain a more serious injury.
“I am please Fugler has now been punished for his actions and hope this sentence serves as a warning to others of what can happen to you if you pick up a knife in anger.”
