Eligible individuals have their last chance to receive their COVID-19 and flu vaccinations as Nottingham and Nottinghamshire’s mobile vaccination clinics conclude on 29 January.
Since November, these drop-in clinics have been providing vital winter vaccines to those most at risk, including:
- People aged 65 or over (including those turning 65 by 31 March 2025)
- Individuals with certain health conditions
- Pregnant women
- Frontline health or social care workers
- Residents of care homes for older adults
The final clinics will operate from 10am to 4pm at the following locations:
- Kingsmill Hospital, Mansfield Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, NG17 4JL: 22 and 27 January
- Highbury Hospital, Highbury Road, Nottingham, NG6 9DR: 28 January
- Newark Hospital, Boundary Road, Newark, NG24 4DE: 29 January
Dr. Dave Briggs, Medical Director at NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, emphasized the importance of winter vaccinations:
“We’ve observed a significantly higher rate of hospitalisation due to flu this year, making it even more critical to get vaccinated. If you have a long-term condition, being vaccinated can reduce your chances of hospitalisation by up to a third.
“Additionally, winter vaccinations during pregnancy can protect not only the mother but also provide some immunity to the baby during the first few months of life.”
For those unable to attend a mobile clinic, flu vaccinations remain available at participating pharmacies until the end of March.
