The A1 in Nottinghamshire remains CLOSED southbound between the B6325 at North Muskham and the A46 near Newark due to a multi-vehicle collision.
Nottinghamshire Police are managing the incident and awaiting recovery for the vehicles involved.
There is currently 6 miles of congestion
The A1 in Nottinghamshire is closed southbound between the B6325 (North Muskham) and the A46 near Newark-on-Trent due to a multi-vehicle collision.
Emergency services including Nottinghamshire Police are in attendance. National Highways Traffic Officers are also assisting with traffic management on scene.
Diverted traffic is advised to follow the solid circle diversion symbol.Exit A1 south at the North Muskham junction (with the B6235).
At the roundabout take the third exit on to the B6235.
Continue to the Cattle Market Roundabout in Newark-on-Trent with the A46.
Take the first exit from the roundabout on to the A46 eastbound.
Follow the A46 eastbound to the interchange with the A1.
At the first roundabout take the second exit to remain on the A46 and cross over the A1.
At the next roundabout take the third exit to re-join the A1 southbound.

‘We’re receiving reports of a multi-vehicle collision on the A1 southbound in Nottinghamshire just before the A46 junction at Newark. Our Traffic Officers are en-route to scene. There’s 3 miles of congestion on approach. More information to follow.

‘Lane closed and queueing traffic due to spillage on A46 Eastbound from A617 (Cattlemarket Roundabout ) to A1 (Newark Showground / Air Museum Turn Off).
‘Number of lanes closed has not been reported.’
