Road closed, long delays and queueing traffic due to crash investigation work on A52 Derby Road Westbound between A6464 Woodside Road (Priory Island) and A6007 Ilkeston Road (Bramcote Island). Congestion to the QMC Island.
EMAS statement: “We received a call at 3.16pm on 1 November to Derby Road in Bramcote. The caller reported that there had been a road traffic collision.
“We sent two paramedics in fast response cars and a crewed ambulance. The air ambulance was also in attendance. One patient was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre via crewed ambulance.”

The carriageway is closed to allow emergency services to work at the scene. Traffic officers are on scene to assist with traffic management.
There is significant congestion on all local routes surrounding the A52 and approximately 1 mile of congestion approaching the closure.

Diversion route:
- From the A52(T) QMC roundabout, take the A6514 north for 1.2km then turn left onto the A609.
- Follow the A609 for 3.6km until the large crossroads junction with the A6002 and turn right.
- Continue north along the A6002 for 4.3km until the large signalised roundabout with the A610.
- At the roundabout, take the A610 westbound and continue for 700m.
- Take the southbound entry slip road onto the M1 at Junction 26 and continue south until Junction 25.
- Exit the motorway to rejoin the westbound A52(T)

‘Two lanes closed and queueing traffic due to crash on A52 Brian Clough Way Westbound between B6006 Wollaton Road and A6007 Ilkeston Road (Bramcote Island).
‘Two (of three lanes are closed. The road was blocked but a lane is now open past the scene.’
Nottinghamshire Police said at 4:22 pm 1 November 2022:
‘The A52 Derby Road is currently closed outbound between Priory Island and Bramcote Island due to a serious collision.
‘Please find alternative routes and avoid the area.’
