The road has been closed between Hockerton and Newark for much of the day for investigation work and is expected to remain closed for several hours as collision investigators examine the scene.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said at 08:24 am
‘We currently have six appliances at the scene of a road traffic collision on Main Road, Kelham.
Road closures are in place, and we ask people to avoid the area whilst we deal with this incident alongside our partners.’
Nottinghamshire Police at 8:09 am on Tuesday 11 July:
‘There’s been a serious road traffic collision on the A617 near Kelham.
‘We were called shortly after 7am after two cars collided.
‘Emergency services are at the scene and two people are being treated for injuries.
‘The road has been closed between Hockerton and Newark’

‘Road closed and very slow traffic due to crash, two vehicles involved on A617 both ways from Caunton Road to Ollerton Road.
