The M1 in South Yorkshire is currently closed southbound between J33 & J32 (M18) near Sheffield & Rotherham due to a collision.
Emergency services including South Yorkshire Police, Fire and Rescue and Ambulance services are in attendance.
National Highways has resources deployed to assist with traffic management.
Traffic caught within the closure has been released past the scene in lane 4 (of 4).
Road users are advised to expect disruption and to allow extra journey time.
Diversion symbol
Road users are advised to follow the solid black triangle diversion symbol on road signs.
- Exit the M1 at J33 and proceed to the end of the slip road.
- At the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto A630 (Sheffield Parkway) and proceed along this road for approximately 3 miles to the junction with the A57 at Castlebeck.
- Exit the A630 and turn left onto the A57 south and proceed along this road for approximately 6 miles to the junction with the M1 J31.
- At the roundabout take the 3rd exit to re-join M1 south.
