A 37-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft of a motor vehicle after a van was stolen from a driveway in Blidworth.
Police say an intruder entered a property in Sherwood Avenue and took a set of keys before using them to unlock and drive away the van parked outside at around 7.30pm on 30 January.
The theft was discovered the following afternoon, 31 January, when the owner contacted police. The vehicle was recovered by response officers on 1 February while enquiries continued in the area.
Following further investigation, officers from Nottinghamshire Police’s county priority tasking team attended an address in Mansfield at about 9.40am on 4 February, where a man was located and detained. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.
PC Neil Davison said officers had received information identifying a suspect and attended a nearby property where the arrest was made. He added that response officers had earlier recovered the stolen vehicle and helped identify the suspect.
