Man allegedly assaulted and robbed by group of men outside Victoria Centre

Police investigating the assault and robbery of a young man have arrested three suspects.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was targeted in Nottingham city centre on Monday evening by a group of men who then stole items including a necklace.

The attack, which took place at the junction of Lower Parliament Street and Milton Street, at around 7.30pm, left the victim needing hospital treatment for a minor head wound.

Three people  aged 19, 18 and 17 years old have been arrested on suspicion of assault and robbery.

Detective Sergeant Nigel Malik, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a nasty and sustained attack that left a young man needing hospital treatment. Thankfully he was not badly injured but incidents like this always have the potential to result in far more serious injuries.

“This incident remains under investigation and we are determined to bring everyone involved to justice. We now have three suspects in custody but would still like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
