Man charged after machete recovered at Beeston address

A 21-year-old man has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon after officers responded to a report of a disturbance.

Police recovered a machete following the incident in Herald Close, Beeston, at 12.44am on Saturday (12 September).

Harvey Johnson, of Herald Close, Beeston, will appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today (Monday 14 September).

Detective Sergeant Rick Ellis, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Weapons have no place on the streets of Nottinghamshire. The force takes knife crime extremely seriously and is committed to tackling the issue and continuing the reduction in knife crime across the county.”
